I am 37yrs old and am currently in this treatment and Dr.Alan Chong is single handedly changing my life and has saved my sanity!! I’ve been diagnosed with bulge disc at L4 and L5-S1, mild degenerative disc disease in lower lumbar spine. I was in severe pain and walking was impossible. I was also placed in short term disability. I took prescribed medication like, gabapentin, naproxen and topical cream. I’ve also tried physiotherapy with core exercises weight loss and also visited different chiropractors and nothing was working, this put me through depression. I’ve had chronic back pain since my early 20s, so almost half my life now. I have seen may specialists of all sorts, done physio, injections, massages and consulted with a surgeon. I now live mostly pain free and can do many sports I couldn’t do before. Thanks to regular strengthening exercises and periodic excellent adjustments. As a retired 76 year old who has suffered and continued to suffer with a debilitating back problem, I am writing this to reveal that there is help out there. After reaching a point that I was unable to walk for short distances due to severe pain emanating from my lower back and extending down to my legs, I had to do something. Regular chiropractic treatments provided brief relief, but did not alleviate the problem. After a series of x-rays and an MRI revealed compression between the L3& L4 discs and also between the L4&L5 discs. Consultation at the Spinal Clinic at the FoothillsHospital resulted with advice of surgery and cortisone injections. Neither of these options appealed to me and I subsequently investigated the viability of spinal decompression. My wife and I are very happy with the staff at Centre for Chiropractic Care (Crowfoot). Our first experience was at the end of August. I have been seeing chiropractors my whole life. Since i was about 8. After living the life I have, I wouldn’t be walking without them. However after 43 years of rodeo, motocross, freestyle skiing , off road racing and jumping monster trucks, I reached my end and wasn’t able to get fixed anymore. They just couldn’t make the pain in my lower back and down my leg go away. When I reached a point where sitting was unbearable, lying down was worse, standing was almost impossible, walking was difficult and sneezing brought it all together in a crippling shot, from my lower back to my toes. I called my wife and said I think I’m done. She found Dr.Alan Chong called his office. She explained what I was going through and had an appointment for me a day or so later. I went in and he went over some X-rays I’d already had. He decided an mri would be best to fully understand what was going on. Carrie up front got me an appointment at a private lab I believe the next day. He switched it to a CT due to my work with metal. When the results came back (which were right away) he found I had two herniated discs in my lower back. Along with other issues from my past. As well there was alternate issue that added to back pain and he passed it onto another specialist. I’ve never encounter anything like this. It was so over the top , I’ve never experienced this kind of care or interest. Enough babbling, Dr. Chong set up sessions for me. Receiving my latest MRI spinal results I knew I had seek out a chiropractor interested in working with me to be proactive in slowing down any further degenerating to my spine. My chiro did not appear interested in changing up my regular adjustments, just printing off more stretches for me to do. As my kids live in Calgary I started searching here. Thinking the time may come that spinal decompression may be necessary. I sought out a doctor specializing in this. I am glad I came to see Dr. Chong. He went over my MRI results with me very thoroughly. (My other chiro did not review results with me, just read the report.). After a thorough exam of my spine he was very honest with me that I was not yet a candidate for spinal depression but would use adjustments that were specific to my spine. When I returned for my second appointment, Dr. Chong had a treatment plan ready for me and again went over findings of first exam. I had 2 adjustments this week and am feeling great. I am thankful I have found a doc to work with me going forward. I would also like to say, when I sent an email on a weekend requesting info on Dr. Chong, I had a reply from Carrie (front reception) first thing Monday morning. Usually these days you don't hear back from anyone for at least a week! Carrie is awesome too!

I first started seeing Dr Chong when I was having some issues with my hand and wrist. I have since been treated by Dr Chong for neck arthritis, shoulder pain, and a whiplash from a motor vehicle accident, all with good results. He has also more recently been treating my husband for a painful neck condition. He has been pain free since his treatments. We find Dr Chong to be very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He is very precise, which gives us peace of mind and confidence in his judgement and abilities during our treatments. FOOT SURPRISE! Dr. Chong is extremely thorough.! When going for my regular adjustment, I mentioned that I had hurt my foot a month ago and that perhaps my back was compensating for my limp. (I was had been having trouble getting my foot to heal properly. I had seen my MD and 2 Physiotherapists.)
